Karolinska Institutet, Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics

The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (MEB) is among the largest departments of epidemiology in Europe with special focus on increasing our knowledge of the aetiology of different diseases. Our department consists of researchers, doctoral students, biostatisticians, data collectors and database administrators as well as administrative personnel, in total some 250 staff. The department is situated at campus Solna. Further information can be found at ki.se/meb

Part of the success of our Department is due to our collaborative spirit. This means that researchers at the Department share and co-finance common resources (e.g., IT and biostatistics). Only researchers who are interested in this model should consider this position.

The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics is seeking an epidemiologist to join the faculty of 16 full Professors, 5 Senior Lecturers and 10 researchers in various epidemiological and statistical disciplines. We want to strengthen the faculty and recruit an epidemiologist considered a world class researcher in any area of epidemiology. The successful candidate is expected to stimulate and develop growth in his/her area of epidemiology and to contribute to the training of undergraduate and graduate students in scientific methodology. The successful candidate is expected to further develop the department's work within the field to a high international competitiveness.

We assume that the future Senior Lecturer will continue her/his research within the already established research area. Some teaching in the Department's undergraduate and/or graduate programs is expected in the position, particularly in the Scientific Development in the medical program. The position can be combined with clinical work.
