Do you have a master’s degree and want to work as a research engineer, facilitating the development, validation or automation/deployment of machine-learning approaches to detect and diagnose breast cancer in radiological images? We have two positions available.
Our research is internationally recognized for the development and evaluation of AI for radiological breast cancer diagnostics. Our group has expertise in radiology, biostatistics and machine learning. We have a strong collaboration with research groups at KTH, and internationally with a group at the Computational Precision Health program at the University of California San Francisco and Berkeley.
Our work
AI is a potent tool for risk prediction, detection, lesion segmentation, treatment planning, and response for breast cancer in particular. The performance of such tools heavily depends on the data used for development. Today, many research groups and commercial vendors are formulating approaches - model- and data-centric - to provide state-of-the-art models and diagnostic-assistive and precision medicine solutions. Our team has already been involved in the development of risk prediction and cancer detection models. At the same time, we have also established and currently run a national platform for external evaluation of breast cancer detection algorithms in mammograms. Our group has multidisciplinary expertise in radiology, biostatistics and machine learning.
We are now looking for two research engineers to facilitate our group's work with developing or validating AI algorithms.
For the validation and automation work, you will work closely with our team members involved in a national validation platform for AI in breast imaging. Your role will be to facilitate the biostatistical work of our post doc researcher, and to design and deploy automated solutions for uploading and processing external algorithms in a safe and secure manner.
For the development work, you will work closely with the post doc researchers and PhD student involved in developing machine-learning algorithms for early detection and precision medicine based on mammography, ultrasound and MRI images. Your task will be to prepare data and run experiments to facilitate the research projects.
