The Department of Medicine at Huddinge comprises seven units, three research centers and, around 70 independent research groups. The Center for Infectious Medicine (CIM) is a research unit within the Department of Medicine Huddinge with a focus on translational studies of the human immune system and infection-immunity in humans. CIM has since its inauguration in 2002 rapidly grown and gained national and international recognition. The vision is to become one of the leading translational research centers within immunity and infectious diseases in Europe.

Duties
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the group of Assistant Professor Marcus Buggert as a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on a project concerning the immunobiology of T cells in tissues. 

The project will be focused on understanding what role tissue resident memory T cells (TRMs) play in health and HIV disease. Specifically, the candidate will determine what unique functions that are linked to efficient HIV-specific TRM responses and also assess the degree of viral reservoirs in TRMs. The research project will be in collaboration with domestic and international researchers and clinicians – therefore longer periods might be spent abroad.

The present position is based on new funding available immediately. If several highly qualified candidates are identified we may opt to hire two Postdoctoral Researchers.

Entry requirements
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctoral researcher is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence.

The applicant should hold a PhD in Immunology. The position requires experience with multiparameter flow cytometry and work with human lymphocytes. In addition, we believe that the successful candidate will have a strong background in studies of the immunobiology of human T cells. Experience of sequencing techniques (such RNA-seq), bioinformatics, virology and tissue biology will also be considered as merits. Applicants should have first author publications in recognized peer-reviewed journals.
The candidate should be a talented and highly motivated researcher, have good communication skills, and ability to interact effectively and work productively in a team. Fluency in English is a requirement. Emphasis will be placed on scientific track record as well as personal suitability.
