We are recruiting a motivated and skilled research assistant to join the Cell and Gene Therapy Group (CGTG). The group’s primary research focus is to optimize and clinically adapt strategies to retarget Natural Killer (NK) cells to tumors with limited off-target effects and toxicity profiles. For this purpose, we are currently performing clinical trials where NK cell responses are enhanced and retargeted against tumor cells in patients with Multiple Myeloma (MM).
You will be aiming to improve genetic modification strategies for Natural Killer cells, the cytotoxic lymphocytes of the innate immune system. NK cells have inherent mechanisms of resistance to most types of genetic modification strategies. You will be investigating the efficiency of a small inhibitor on improving the NK cell susceptibility to different methods of genetic manipulation, including lentiviral transduction.

You must have been granted a Degree of Bachelor within Molecular Biology or Genetics. You must have excellent proficiency of the English language. You must have previous experience of working in a Biosafety level 2 laboratory with primary cell culture, multi-colour flow cytometry, genetic modification of immune cells, lentivirus production, and basic molecular biology techniques such as PCR, western blotting, cloning. A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline and/or advanced knowledge of relevant software such as FlowJo and GraphPad Prism will be an advantage. Prior knowledge of in vitro functional assays, luciferase assay and live cell imaging are meriting.
You are structured, motivated, responsible, approachable, and organized team-player with the ability to work flexibly and independently in a high-paced environment. You should have clear communication and interpersonal skills to cultivate open professional relationships with the group members and be able to discuss data and research questions.
