The Petter Brodin’s research group located at Biomedicum, Stockholm is a part of the Unit of Clinical Pediatrics, which is a broad, multi-disciplinary unit at the department of women’s and children’s health, Karolinska Institutet. The lab being a leading labs in systems immunology develops and applies experimental and computational research methods for systems-level analyses of human immune systems.
The Brodin lab is a multidisciplinary laboratory investigating human immune system variation and development early in life. The team develops cutting edge technologies for systems-level analyses and apply these to the studies of immune system development in young children and throughout childhood as well as the study of immune dysregulation in the context of disease. The group is half experimental and half computational and our work is cross-disciplinary in nature. The research group coordinates multiple collaborative projects and international collaborations with academic and industry partners.
The responsibilities of this candidate in the lab are as follows
To be eligible for employment as a Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise as well as have documented research experience after defending their doctoral dissertation. Postdoctoral experience is important.
The successful candidate must be thriving in interdisciplinary environments and should be dedicated to performing the tasks assigned in the lab error free and with great care. The candidate must be comfortable to work both independently and in collaboration with other team members (when necessary) and contribute to the team’s concerted efforts. The candidate must have good interpersonal skills and communication skills in English as the team is multicultural and interdisciplinary.
