We are looking for a Research Specialist to Andreas Lennartsson´ s research group at the department of Biosciences and Nutrition (https://ki.se/en/bionut/department-of-biosciences-and-nutrition)
The epigenetic machinery is often perturbed in AML and contributes to leukomogenesis via different mechanisms. Increased knowledge about the aberrant epigenetic machinery will help us to better understand the mechanisms that give rise to AML. Andreas Lennartsson’s research group is interested in the epigenetic regulation of normal myelopoiesis and acute myeloid leukemia (AML), https://ki.se/en/bionut/epigenetic-regulation-of-leukemia-and-normal-blood-development-andreas-lennartsson. The aim is to identify key epigenetic factors that regulate enhancer activity and multi-potency in hematopoietic stem cells and dissect how they contribute to the development of leukemic stem cells.
The employed Research Specialist is expected to perform research and provide academic leadership in experimental and translational molecular AML biology, with a particular emphasis on transcrptomics and epigenomics, both experimental and bioinformatic work.. You will develop the field through internal and external collaborations, supervise master students and lead the day-to-day work of participating PhD students and postdocs; prepare and submit grant applications.
The position is time-limited for 6 months.
To be eligible for employment as a Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise as well as have documented research experience after defending their doctoral dissertation. The applicant should hold a PhD from a related area, with experience in bioinformatic analysis of genome-wide data of especially Transcient Transcriptomics sequencing, CAGE, ChIP-sequencing, RNA-seq and the Illumia arrays for DNA methylation. Prior experience in Acute myeloid leukemia and IPS-cells are advantageous. Candidates should be able to interact and work efficiently in a team and experience in interaction with clinics.
