Division of Physiological Chemistry I stems from the laboratory of Jöns Jacob Berzelius (1779- 1848), the great Swedish scientist and the first Chemistry professor at KI. Among other achievements, Berzelius pioneered mass measurements in Chemistry, having published in 1818 a table of accurate weights of 45 out of the 49 known elements. Continuing Berzelius’ tradition, the Division bases its research on mass spectrometry. It also hosts a cell lab, a stem cell lab and two proteomics core facilities.
You will work closely with stem cell researchers and proteomics core facility staff. Your duty will be to participate in the development of novel proteomics approaches to address various biomedically important issues, as well as in the ongoing research projects requiring the use of stem cells and proteomics.
