Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

Division of Physiological Chemistry I stems from the laboratory of Jöns Jacob Berzelius (1779- 1848), the great Swedish scientist and the first Chemistry professor at KI. Among other achievements, Berzelius pioneered mass measurements in Chemistry, having published in 1818 a table of accurate weights of 45 out of the 49 known elements. Continuing Berzelius’ tradition, the Division bases its research on mass spectrometry. It also hosts a cell lab, a stem cell lab and two proteomics core facilities.
