Do you want to contribute to improving human health?

We offer a position as postdoctoral researcher to work with muscle biology in the context of inflammatory myopathies. The aim is to understand mechanisms of impaired metabolism and contraction as mediated by serological factors and evaluate new pharmacological interventions. The research group offers a creative and intellectual milieu.

Your mission

The postdoc will test hypothesis regarding the roles of inflammatory serum in mediating muscle weakness and metabolic dysfunction. This involves handling of experimental animals, dissection of skeletal muscles and working with a test platform developed by the laboratory.

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor, a PhD or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a Swedish PhD is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. Completion of your doctoral degree within the last three years is considered an advantage. If there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.

The candidate should have extensive experience in isolation of skeletal muscles to be measured in a myograph, handling experimental animals, incubation with serum from patients, measurement of glucose uptake, qPCR and protein quantification methods.
