Research Assistant in Clinical Microbiology

The Department of Laboratory Medicine consists of seven departments within which both research and teaching are conducted. The department is involved in advanced research in both basic and applied research. All departments work in close contact with clinicians at Karolinska University Hospital.

The Department of Clinical Microbiology has an activity that is characterized by multidisciplinary research in infectious diseases that contributes with translational knowledge to the development of new diagnostics and treatment methods.

The department is seeking a research assistant for a fixed-term position for 4 months.

Your mission

As a research assistant, you will be part of a research group where your primary task will be to work with bacteriophages, viruses that kill bacteria. You will work on different aspects of characterization of bacteriophages and also perform resistance determination of bacterial isolates.

Your profile

We are looking for a person with a master's degree in molecular biology or microbiology. You have experience working with culture-based methods. It is meritorious to have experience of working with bacteriophages.
