We are looking for a Research Assistant to join the Lanner lab at the Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology. As a research assistant, you will have a unique opportunity to develop cell-based drugs to treat age-related macular degeneration

Your mission

The Lanner lab is working together with Anders Kvanta at St. Erik Eye Hospital to conduct a phase 1 study where stem cell-derived retinal cells will be transplanted to patients with age-related macular degeneration. As a research assistant you will mainly work with:

  • Responsible for testing of stem cell-based drugs
  • Coordinate the writing of documents to support applications
  • Developing new embryonic stem cells 

This is a fixed-term position of 9 months. 

Your profile

We are looking for you who have deep and specific experience in testing stem cell-derived retinal cells both for release and deep understanding of preclinical animal studies. Furthermore, you should have experience working in GMP labs and culture of embryonic stem cells, especially clonal expansion. Advantageous if you are already qualified to work in the GMP faculty Karolinska Center for Cell Therapy.

As a person, you are able to work independently and you take initiative for new tasks and challenges. You have a structured approach to your work and have a good ability to create new relationships. We attach great importance to personal qualities.
