Our research group - Epidemiology of Psychiatric Conditions, Substance use and Social Environment (EPiCSS) - is headed by Professor Christina Dalman. The Department of Global Public Health is an interdisciplinary institution that aims to advance knowledge on how to improve population health at local, national and global level. Research at the department aims to identify the determinants of health, develop and evaluate individual and structural interventions, and provide evidence for guidelines and policy documents. Many of the department's researchers are scientific advisors to authorities and other decision-makers at regional, national and international level. The department has 10 research groups, about 100 research students and about 140 employees.

Your mission

We are seeking a research assistant to coordinate the daily running of a new randomized controlled trial (RCT). The trial will examine the effects of yoga-based exercise on health and wellbeing among adults diagnosed with post COVID 19 condition (post COVID). We aim to recruit approximately 100 participants over 18 months.
Under supervision, you will be required to screen and assess new participants; set up and manage a project database (including data entry); liaising with physical fitness centres responsible for the intervention; register the trial online; ensure that recruitment targets are met and the trial runs smoothly. Upon completion of the trial, there may be opportunities to lead data analyses and write scientific manuscripts for publication.

Your profile

Key selection criteria (please describe how you meet the requirements in your application):

  • Fluent in Swedish and English
  • Master’s degree in nursing, public health, psychology, exercise science or related discipline
  • High level administrative and organizational skills (including the capacity to multi-task and manage high workload periods)
  • Excellent social/interpersonal skills

Highly desirable requirements:

  • Recent experience coordinating a randomized controlled trial
  • Graduate as Nurse
  • Those that have experience managing trials involving physical activity interventions or patients with COVID are particularly welcome to apply
