The activities at the Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics (LIME) include education and research in systems, leadership and management issues in healthcare, lifelong learning for healthcare personnel, ethical and policy issues related to healthcare and research, healthcare information systems, social innovation and suicide prevention. LIME is responsible for three master's programs and a range of commissioned training courses. At the Centre for Health Informatics (HIC), we conduct research and education in health informatics and are responsible for the two-year global master's program in health informatics and provide commissioned training, freestanding courses and doctoral courses in digital health. By being part of Karolinska Institutet's eHealth core facility, we also provide methodological support to other research groups at KI. Your mission

We are looking for an ambitious and responsible team member who works approx. 50% with education and 50% support within the eHealth core facility and in various research projects. You have a solid background in health informatics and your entry into the field can be either clinical or technical.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a Lecturer is one who has demonstrated pedagogical proficiency and has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence or any other professional skill that is important with regard to the subject content of the employment and the tasks that must be included in the employment. You will work as a teacher/course manager in various courses in the master's program in health informatics. You will also work with methodological support within KI's core facility for eHealth. As part of the team, you will further be involved in various research projects.

Your work will include:

  • Course responsibility, planning and execution of courses (classroom teaching and examination), including planning relevant learning activities, involving guest lecturers and arranging study visits
  • Supervision and examination of master's theses
  • Evaluation and development of courses
  • Assist the program director with student and alumni contacts and strategic development of the program
  • Methodological support (e.g. requirements specification, programming, evaluation of mobile apps) within KI's core facility for eHealth
  • Write publications and seek external research funds

Bases of assessment

The candidate must have:

  • Master's and doctoral degrees in health informatics or equivalent
  • Experience in teaching health informatics with a focus on co-design/service design and implementation of digital health and/or health informatics standards and data management
  • Experience of supervision and examination of degree theses at master's level
  • Experience in leading and developing courses
  • Knowledge of scientific writing in English and good communication skills
  • Knowledge of Swedish and English (both spoken and written)
  • Programming skills

Meritorious qualifications (must be supported by documentation):

  • A solid network in digital health, nationally and internationally

Personal skills:

  • When assessing the applicants, we attach particular importance to pedagogical skills. As this recruitment involves intensive interaction with students, your personal skills will be important, such as good communication skills, structure and the ability to collaborate, but also the ability to run projects and work independently under time pressure and with, in some cases, limited instructions.
