Our research group has a strong focus on pathogenesis, treatment, prophylaxis and cure of HIV infection. More recently research is also performed on SARS-CoV-2. Of special interest is our interest in the evaluation of novel anti-viral compounds. The experimental research of the present position is focused on in vitro and ex vivo evaluation of compounds which exhibit anti-retroviral properties.
The successful applicant will perform his/her tasks in the experimental research group of Professor Anders Sönnerborg. The main working tasks will be on evaluation in vitro and ex vivo of the properties of compounds both for regulation of HIV latency/replication and for prophylaxis against viral infections. This includes mechanisms, pathways, efficacy, and resistance development. The applicant will perform own research within the framework of Professor Sönnerborgs HIV projects and give intellectual and administrative support to other members of the research group.
To be eligible for employment as a Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise as well as have documented research experience after defending their doctoral dissertation.
