The Genander lab is interested in understanding establishment and maintenance of epithelial tissue homeostasis and how alterations in homeostasis lead to tumor formation. Specifically, we are interested in identifying and mechanistically delineate stem cell niche components required for normal stem cell properties and how these stem cell-to-niche interactions change during tumor progression.

Your mission

This position is focused on identifying and understanding mechanisms of esophageal progenitor fate determination and behavior. The work includes detailed analysis of genetic animal models, in vitro organoid cultures, single cell sequencing data analysis and mathematical modelling.

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

The candidate is expected to have documented hands-on experience of working with genetic mouse models and organoid cultures. Furthermore, the candidate should know of, and be able to use independently, established methods of Smart-seq3 data analysis. Proficiency in quantitative lineage tracing analysis is a merit.
