Research at the Unit of Integrative Toxicology covers a wide range, from experimental and observational studies to mathematical modelling and application of such research in health risk assessment. The aim is to highlight areas that are crucial for toxicological risk assessment, with a focus on health and safety at the workplace, indoor air quality and chemical accidents.
The position as a postdoctoral researcher is for 2 years.
Your main task will be to work in the research project Novel in vitro approaches to quantify chemosensory irritation as basis for exposure limits, funded by the Swedish Research Council. You will plan and conduct experiments with zebrafish larvae including all parts, from handling of larvae, chemicals and video tracking instruments to analysis of data and compilation of manuscripts. Participation in general activities at IMM and the unit is expected. Participation in education including e.g. supervision of master students may be required.
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
Specific competences: Doctorate in biochemistry, molecular biology, toxicology or equivalent. Documented experience with in vitro toxicology, chemical management and risk assessment. Experience of work with zebrafish embryos, Danovision and Ethovision.
General competences: Good knowledge of English in speech and writing. Experience of writing scientific articles and of giving scientific presentations. Personal qualities including social skills, ability to work together with others and being problem-solving-oriented.
