Do you want to contribute to improving human health?

Christian Rück’s research group works to improve the life of individuals with psychiatric conditions through understanding their genesis and developing treatments. A core theme of our research is to develop more accurate prediction models for both the risk of, and also consequences of, psychiatric conditions. We work in an interdisciplinary and clinically integrated research environment at Karolinska Flemingsberg where you have the possibility and ambition to contribute to quality research at international top-level.

Your mission

You will be working in precision psychology/psychiatry, having a leading role in different studies within two major areas of research: Prediction of outcomes after psychotherapy, and suicide prediction. You will have supervisor duties for PhD students in the research group as well as managerial responsibilities with respect to ongoing interdisciplinary projects and affiliated staff. The projects will require both your clinical expertise as a licensed psychologist/psychiatrist and statistical analysis skills that span from traditional statistics/epidemiology to data science methods including machine learning.

The new assistant professor should drive their research line independently focused on predictive modelling for psychiatric patients using the large, multimodal datasets (including clinical, registry, and genetic data) that are collated and accessible. You are expected to seek and obtain funding, handle complex data, and successfully drive projects to publication. You are also expected to pursue independent projects, write scientific articles in international journals, present research results at international scientific conferences and also for society, write and apply for your own grants and tutor students.

The employment as Assistant Professor is time limited for 5 years with the right to apply for promotion to Senior Lecturer.
