CPE was established in 2005 and has become a leading player in the pharmacoepidemiology field in Europe and is now one of the largest academic pharmacoepidemiology centres in Europe. CPE has many international contacts and participates actively in the international collaborations that exist in the field.

Your mission

If you are a senior researcher who wants to be part of the management and in leading a group of committed employees with different backgrounds such as statisticians, clinicians, epidemiologists, nurses and biomedical scientists who all have a common interest in conducting pharmacoepidemiological studies, this position is something for you. We would also like you to supervise PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in your role as a senior epidemiologist.

You are a person who has experience from the epidemiological research arena, preferably pharmacoepidemiology, and has documented experience in the research field through published scientific work in highly ranked medical journals. In your role, you will have contact with competent people in the academia as well as the authorities and the business community.

As a participant in the development of CPE, you will engage in strategic decisions concerning the centre's operations and you should therefore have management experience.

Your profile

We are looking for you who are a clinician (specialist), pharmacist or have other similar education and we prefer if you have experience from the pharmaceutical industry, authorities or county councils / regions.

Dissertation in epidemiology, preferably pharmacoepidemiology, is a requirement. You have many years of experience in register research and have at least docent level competence. The person we are looking for must be well acquainted with the design of epidemiological studies and advanced statistical analysis methods in pharmacoepidemiology.

Documented leadership experience and leadership training is a requirement, and experience of teaching in pharmacoepidemiology is an advantage.

We are looking for you who have a good ability to communicate clearly and lead others in an enthusiastic way. As a person, you are positive, responsive, driven and easy to work with and have a visionary approach. You are motivated to initiate new collaborative opportunities for CPE to further develop in the pharmacoepidemiology field.

Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both oral and written, is a requirement

Location

The position is located within the Department of Medicine, Solna. The department consists of twelve divisions and three Centers. . The position is located within the research The Centre for Pharmacoepidemiology.

The Centre for Pharmacoepidemiology (CPE) at the Department of Medicine Solna, works in a dynamic environment at the intersection of academia, healthcare, authorities and the pharmaceutical industry. We conduct academic research on drug safety, drug effectiveness and drug utilization and carry out projects on behalf of authorities and the business community in the area of pharmacoepidemiology. A large part of our research is based on data from the national registers at the National Board of Health and Welfare and Statistics Sweden, as well as corresponding registers from other countries, especially the Nordic countries.

About 20 employees and a number of affiliated researchers work at CPE. At the moment, at least 35 research projects are ongoing at the unit and we can offer a committed and international environment where you get the opportunity to contribute to high-quality research through our international network.
