The Aging Research Center (ARC) is a division of the Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society (NVS). ARC conducts research in psychology, sociology, and various branches of medicine (e.g., neurology, epidemiology, psychiatry, and geriatrics). Senior researchers, postdocs, doctoral students, and guest researchers are all represented at ARC. Unique resources - such as several large prospective studies, nationwide research registries, record linkage capabilities, and access to clinical and biological data - are available at the center.

Your mission

We are looking for applicants who are interested in studying the complexity of aging and age-related disorders. In this position as research assistant you will be assisting researchers at the Aging Research Center (ARC) on a project that investigates the occurrence of frailty and multimorbidity in older people. We are looking for two highly motivated research assistants that will be working under the main supervision of Dr. Davide Liborio Vetrano and Dr. Amaia Calderón-Larrañaga within the research area of geriatric epidemiology. The successful candidates are expected to play a critical role in data analysis, data cleaning, and manuscript writing. The candidates will also assist with conducting literature reviews as well as project planning and development.

This is a full-time, temporary position of 12 months. There are two available positions.

Your profile

The successful candidates are expected (1) to hold a master’s degree related to epidemiology or public health sciences by the time of employment; (2) to have research and/or work experience related to aging and health; (3) to have excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively and productively with other researchers in the team; (4) to have good analytical/programming skills; and (5) to have excellent English language skills in terms of oral and written communication.
