The position will be placed in the research group headed by Professor Anita Gondor at Department of Oncology and Pathology, Campus Solna, Karolinska Institutet. Gondor´s group, is a group of scientists with a drive to understand genomic organization by developing new methods for characterization of the genome organization and its interplay with circadian rhythms and metabolism. The mission is to improve personalized cancer treatment with special reference to breast cancer. At present we seek to strengthen our research group with an outstanding scientist with proven expertise in mathematical and systems analysis to interpret and integrate molecular data from cellular experiments and clinical samples. We offer a very stimulating and diverse work in a team of very motivated co-workers with expertise in cutting-edge technology.
We are looking for an outstanding researcher with a strong background in mathematics, mathematical modeling, theory, and analysis. Expertise in complexity theory and algorithms are required. Techniques for discrete and continuous modeling with special reference to disease relevant analysis is required. You are expected to lead the computational analysis in a collaborative project on breast cancer. In addition to maintaining an independent research track, you are expected to interact closely with experts in molecular biology and clinicians.
Tasks for the position
A person is eligible to be appointed Senior Researcher if he or she has been awarded a Degree of Doctor or has achieved the corresponding scientific competence, as well as documented research after publicly defending his or her doctoral thesis corresponding to qualification as Assistant professor.
