Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

Several different environmental pollutants, including toxic metals, are commonly found in our diet and drinking water, which means lifelong exposure. It is therefore of importance to clarify whether this can lead to health effects in the population, especially in sensitive groups. Exposure to metals early in life can affect health and development both during childhood and later in life. At IMM, we work with several mother-child cohorts and investigate the entire process from individual exposure (usually through biomarkers) to the impact on children's health and development, with special emphasis on underlying mechanisms, such as effects on various parts of the immune system, hormone systems and epigenome.
