The Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society (NVS) conducts world leading research in aging, dementia, epidemiology and care sciences. This research extends from basic molecular and cell levels to clinical research and societal studies. NVS educates almost a third of KI students at basic and advanced levels. The Department has approximately 540 employees and a revenue 2023 of 530 million SEK. It comprises seven divisions, located at Campus Flemingsberg and Campus Solna.

Division
The Division of Nursing conducts research and education within care science. Our aim is to improve health care for patients and relatives as well as for health care employees. The Divisions research program strives to contribute to evidence-based guidelines and new working methods for care to ensure patient health and well-being in every care situation. The research at the Division has the ambition is to support the development of care for the patient in the future health care environments. We integrate research, education and clinical work.

Duties
The postdoc will conduct research within Yvonne Wengström’s research group and work primarily within the Exercise For Fatigue in AdvancEd Cancer PaTients (EFFECT) study and the OptiTrain exercise trial for women with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy. Both clinical trials aim to understand the effect of exercise on the health of women with breast cancer. Over the course of the Postdoc appointment, the candidate will recruit study participants, conduct testing sessions, collect data, supervise exercise training sessions, manage and analyse data, and report on the results from the EFFECT and OptiTrain studies and participate in International exchange in exercise oncology. Responsibilities also include writing manuscripts and research funding applications and supervising research students. The position will also entail collaboration and participation in dissemination activities within and outside of academia. The position is full time for two years with the possibility of extension.

Entry requirements
The applicant must have a doctoral degree (completed no more than five years from the last date of the employment of this Postdoc position), and a University Degree in Health Sciences. We highly value experience working with patients with cancer in an exercise setting. It will be viewed favourably if the candidate has experience in conducting research trials in clinical populations. In addition to excellent speaking, reading and writing skills in English, the candidate should be able to communicate with study participants and so the candidate should be able to fluently speak and write Swedish. The candidate we seek should be self-motivated, with good communication, collaboration and writing skills, the ability to work productively in a team and collaborate effectively both within and outside academia.
