A doctoral student is admitted to third-cycle/doctoral education. A doctoral education consists of supervised research, combined with courses and other educational activities. An individual study plan is established for each doctoral student. For a Licentiate degree, the equivalent of two years of full-time doctoral education is required.

We are recruiting a student for two-year doctoral education finishing with a Licentiate degree.

The doctoral student project and the duties of the doctoral student
In these licentiate studies, the student will work in the EU H2020 “seCUre and pRivate hEalth data eXchange” - CUREX Project (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/rcn/220350/). The licentiate education project is entitled “Cybersecurity and Privacy challenges within mobile health services; exploring awareness and adopting cybersecurity and privacy tools within healthcare contexts”. Within this licentiate project the structure of a mobile health system will be analyzed, focusing on cyber-security and privacy challenges (cyber hygiene).

Specific tasks the doctoral student is asked to perform within the project are:

  • Conduct an explorative study for assessing the awareness about cybersecurity threats and privacy issues (cyber hygiene) for mobile health systems among selected stakeholders.
  • Based on generic tools for cybersecurity and privacy assessment, develop a risk score calculation model that will cover both cybersecurity and privacy readiness in mobile health systems.

A) General eligibility requirement

You meet the general eligibility requirement for doctoral/third-cycle/PhD education if you:

  1. have been awarded a second-cycle/advanced/master qualification (i.e. master degree) or
  2. have satisfied the requirements for courses comprising at least 240 credits of which at least 60 credits were awarded in the advanced/second-cycle/master level, or
  3. have acquired substantially equivalent knowledge in some other way in Sweden or abroad.*

B) Specific eligibility requirement

You meet the specific eligibility requirement for doctoral/third-cycle/PhD education if you:

  • Show proficiency in English equivalent to the course English B/English 6 at Swedish upper secondary school.

The candidate must have a Master in either Health Informatics or in Computer Science / Engineering with Medicine as Applied Field.

Skills and personal qualities
Software modelling, programming skills also for mobile applications (i.e. iOS, Java for Android), and computer networking skills oriented to security are mandatory. The applicant should have good communication skills, and be able to work in teams and independently. 

Previous experience of working in EU funded projects is desirable. Publications in the field of the subject of the doctoral studies are not mandatory, but will be considered a merit.

Terms and conditions
The doctoral student will be employed on a doctoral studentship maximum 2 years full-time.
