We are looking for a motivated research assistant to take part in a 3–4-month project at the Unit of Biochemical Toxicology, Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM) with start in September 2022. The research at the unit aims at understanding the connection between exposure to chemicals and complex negative health effects, such as cancer and effects caused by endocrine disruption. You will independently work in a project that combines literature search and laboratory work with a focus on establishing OECD methods for endocrine disrupting effects as well as skin sensitization. 

Your mission

The main task of the research assistant is to contribute to literature search regarding methods and Adverse Outome Pathways for endocrine disruption and furthermore to introduce the methods “Test Guideline No. 455, Performance-Based Test Guideline for Stably Transfected Transactivation In Vitro Assays to Detect Estrogen Receptor Agonists and Antagonists” as well as “Test No. 442D: In Vitro Skin Sensitisation ARE-Nrf2 Luciferase Test Method (Keratinosense)” in the lab.

Your profile

The applicant should have a master’s degree in toxicology and practical training in laboratory work with cell culturing and toxicity assessment. Previous work with endocrine disruption and test guidelines is meritorious. The candidate needs to be highly motivated and organized and should be able to communicate well in English, both orally and in writing.
