The Research Support Office (RSO) is a section within KI administration whose overall goal is to stimulate the utilization of KI research and maximize KI external research funding. The department has 4 units, Grants Office (GO), Grants Management Office (GMO), Compliance & Data Office (CDO) and External Engagement Office (EEO).

EEO supports researchers in establishing and managing partnerships with industry and other external actors, and offers career support within the Career Services function, the team responsible for developing career services for the target groups of doctoral students, post-docs and junior researchers.

Your mission

KI Career Service is looking for two coordinators, one permanent position and one short-term position (6 months). You will be part of a career service team that consists of two people and that conducts activities towards doctoral students and post-docs / researchers. Your responsibility will mainly be to focus on career support for post-docs / researchers and this is done in close collaboration with your colleague in the team, other employees at the unit and within other parts of the university. 

The work has an outward focus and involves collaborating with many different actors both within and outside the university as well as nationally and internationally. Career Service has been coordinating two well-established and appreciated internship programs for doctoral students and researchers since 2011. Staying up to date on the sector and communicating are large and important parts of the office development. 

Your duties will, among others, be:

  • responsibility for the entire process around career events; such as inviting lecturers, publishing and marketing events, communicating with participants and evaluating events
  • to create good contacts with business and other organizations, e.g. recruit internship projects to the internship programs
  • to present career service activities for doctoral students, post-docs and researchers in various contexts, e.g. at introductory days and at courses for researchers
  • to support and answer questions from KI doctoral students, post-docs and junior researchers regarding their professional career development within and outside academia

The position may involve travel.

Your profile

You shall have:

  • A doctoral degree within Life-Science
  • Experience of running projects
  • Experience of working at a university and with good insight into doctoral education and research
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English. You should be able to both write your own texts and give presentations in English

Merits for the position are:

  • Good knowledge of spoken and written Swedish
