The Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society (NVS) conducts world leading research in aging, dementia, epidemiology and care sciences. This research extends from basic molecular and cell levels to clinical research and societal studies. NVS educates almost a third of KI students at basic and advanced levels. The Department has approximately 450 employees and a revenue 2018 of 490 million SEK. It comprises seven divisions, located at Campus Flemingsberg and Campus Solna.

Aging Research Center (ARC), a division within NVS, is located at KI Campus Solna, Stockholm. It is a multidisciplinary academic environment, representing medicine (e.g., neurology, epidemiology, psychiatry, geriatrics), psychology (e.g., cognition, structural, functional, and molecular brain imaging), and social gerontology (e.g., sociology, public health, social epidemiology, social work). The center has around 75 employees, it has a strong focus on research with unique research resources, such as large-scale longitudinal studies and nationwide registries.

Your mission

We are looking for applicants who want to participate in the elaboration of an umbrella review synthesizing the evidence from existing systematic reviews and meta-syntheses about the effectiveness of interventions that address the negative health consequences of informal caregiving for older people.

We are looking for a highly motivated research assistant that will be working under the main supervision of Dr. Amaia Calderón-Larrañaga and Dr. Lucas Morin within the research area of informal caregiving. The successful candidate is expected to play a critical role in electronic searches and screening of papers, and data extraction, quality assessment, synthesis and discussion. The candidate will also assist in organizing two workshops with the scientific advisory board of the study.

This is a full-time, temporary position with a duration of 12 months.

Your profile

The successful candidate is expected (1) to hold a Master’s degree related to epidemiology or public health sciences by the time of employment; (2) to have research and/or work experience related to conducting systematic reviews; (3) to have excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively and productively with other researchers in the team; and (4) to have impeccable English language skills in terms of oral and written communication. Having previous experience in aging research will be considered as an additional merit.
