Description of research group and project
We are looking for a candidate to join our highly accomplished team as a laboratory manager. We offer a stimulating environment in a rapidly moving research frontier.

The Mjösberg group studies the development, regulation and function of a particular immune cell, innate lymphoid cells (ILCs), in humans, and how these cells contribute to pathology in mucosal organs such as the lung and gut. The studies are translational as they involve advanced basic molecular and cellular immunological investigations of precious human tissue samples to discover novel disease mechanisms and therapy targets in inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, allergy and asthma. The Mjösberg group consists of 2 PhD students and 4 postdocs working closely together with clinical partners at several Swedish hospitals and laboratory facilities at Science for Life Laboratories, Karolinska Institutet and abroad. The group is internationally recognized as a leader in the field through several high impact publications in recent years (Nat Immunol 2016, JACI 2018, JACI 2018).

The main responsibilities for the laboratory manager will be to support the group’s work through organizational, administrative (approx. 20%) and research-related (approx. 80%) activities. The administrative duties will be related to ordering, preparing documentation for different types of applications and permits, organizing databases and data sets. The applicant will also handle the group’s social media platforms and the website. The applicant will also perform flow cytometric analysis (BD FACSFortessa and Symphony) and sorting (BD FACSAria and SONY sorter). Also other experimental methods will be used. It is expected that the applicant participate in project meetings, supervise students and other researchers if necessary, as well as contribute to other common lab duties.
