We seek a cell biologist/immunologist motivated to work in translational research in the field of autoimmunity. The current project aims to identify antigen specific T cells based on candidate autoantigens and to characterise effector functions of CD4+ T cells in patients with autoimmune myositis. We also aim to establish tools for immunosurveillance of the T cell repertoire in patients with autoimmune myositis and the postdoc will be involved in transcriptomic analyses of such T cells. Key tasks involve the use of multi-parameter flow-cytometry, FACS-sorting, cell biology techniques and work with HLA-Class II tetramers on primary cells from patients with autoimmune myositis and healthy donors.The long term aim is to develop tolerance treatment for patients with autoimmune myositis. All work will be performed within the multidisciplinary research group of Professor Ingrid Lundberg at the Center for Molecular Medicine in close collaboration with the research group of Professor Vivianne Malmström. The candidate will also be involved in several collaborations both nationally and internationally.

Duties
To perform multi-parameter flow cytometry and validate multiparameter flow panels for T cells in samples from patients with autoimmune myositis and healthy donors. Prepare primary cells from blood samples. Perform in vitro cell culture of T cells and set up T-cell line cultures and prepare for single cell transcriptomics. For functional experiments use different immunology techniques (Fluorospot, HLA-Class II tetramers). Design experiments, analyse data with appropriate softwares (Flowjo, GraphPadPrism), interpret and report data. Participate in teaching PhD students in the group and contribute to common lab duties. Participate in scientific discussions, group activities and international congresses.

Entry requirements
PhD in biomedicine /biology or comparable with focus on T cell immunology and autoimmunity. The candidate should be proficient in flow cytometry. Previous experience of work with HLA-tetramer technology is an advantage.

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence.
