Department of Medicine, Solna, Clinical Epidemiology division

The Department of Medicine, Solna, is one of the largest departments at Karolinska Institutet. The department consists of several divisions that are separated into different research groups. The core activities of the department are research, doctoral education and undergraduate education for medical and biomedical students. The research has three main profiles: allergy, cardiovascular medicine and inflammatory diseases.

Division
Clinical Pharmacology Group is a part of Clinical Epidemiology Unit. The team with an open position of post-doc fellow in Clinical Pharmacology Group mainly works in cardiovascular research. Their research activities focus on platelet function in thrombosis and platelet-regulated inflammatory mechanisms in atherosclerosis.

Duties
The research team led by associate professor Nailin Li is offering a 1-year post-doc position for the study of platelet-regulated CD4+ T effector cell responses and its impact on atherogenesis. The post-doc fellow will characterize platelet-regulated CD4+ T effector responses in different in vitro experimental settings, and verify in vitro findings in corresponding in vivo murine models. The post-doc fellow is expected to work independently, to take the responsibilities of the execution, organization, and development of the research project, to generate and document experiment results in a good order, and to report project progresses to the team leader regularly. The post-doc fellow is also expected to be instrumental in presentation and manuscript preparation of the scientific findings, and to supervise junior members of the group.
