Division and research environment
At the Department of Medicine (Huddinge)- Hematology, Center for Hematology and Regenerative Medicine (HERM) we conduct cutting-edge research, teaching and consultancy within the field of hematopoiesis, immunology, and diseases with these systems. HERM aims at joining basic and clinical scientists in a translational environment with a strong international profile and with well-established ties to national cancer registries and biobanks.

Duties
A senior researcher position is now open for a highly-motivated scientist with a strong track record in cellular and molecular studies of acute myeloid leukemia. The researcher is expected to conduct successful research that will lead to an increased understanding of novel potential targets for therapy of acute leukemia as well as discovery of novel compounds that could be investigated for therapeutic effects. Independent research experience from mouse models and primary human normal and leukemic cells is essential. The researcher will join the group of principal investigators at HERM and is expected to actively contribute to the center

Entry requirements
To qualify, the applicant must hold a doctor's degree or a qualification deemed equivalent to a doctorate. Applicants who are qualified and have experience of working as assistant professor or equivalent should be given priority. In addition, displayed pedagogical proficiency in terms of teaching and organization of educational events are considered a merit. Other related skills that are relevant to the appointment’s duties may be required to be eligible.

Bases of assessment
The applicant must hold a Ph.D. degree with broad experiences in research within the above-described field. In addition, broad knowledge in the field of hematopoiesis is mandatory. The applicant should have experience in training and mentoring of PhD students, preferably with documented completed training of such students. Applicants are expected to have published papers as a first and/or corresponding author in high-quality scientific journals within the described field and within the last 3 years. Stable research funding from National grant agencies is mandatory.

Skills and personal qualities
The applicant must speak and write fluent English as well as display excellent communication and coordination/collaboration skills. The applicant must have a strong problem solving analytical ability as well as being independent and well structured. We stress scientific expertise when assessing applicants and the applicant’s personal skills will be highly valued.
