The research group of Ana Teixeira (https://ki.se/en/mbb/ana-teixeira-group) part of the Division of Biomaterials (https://ki.se/en/mbb/research-division-of-biomaterials) at The Department for Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics (https://ki.se/en/mbb/startpage). We are located at the newly built Biomedicum research laboratory (https://ki.se/en/staff/biomedicum) at the Solna campus of Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. We use a multi-disciplinary approach integrating biophysics, DNA nanotechnology and cell biology to understand how the roles of spatial organization in biological systems.

Duties
We are looking for an outstanding postdoctoral fellow to investigate the effects of the spatial distribution and lateral mobility of membrane proteins on downstream signaling. The project will make use of DNA nanotechnology approaches to study cellular signalling and functional outcomes using a combination of in vitro and animal models with applications in cancer and immunology.

Skills and personal qualities
To qualify for this assignment the applicant must hold a doctorate degree or a foreign qualification deemed equivalent to a doctorate degree. The candidate must have published first author papers in high quality international peer-reviewed journals. A strong drive to excel is essential. The applicant should have experience with micro- and nanotechnologies as well as cell biology. Desirable fields of expertise include DNA nanotechnology, supported lipid bilayers, Atomic Force Microscopy, super resolution microscopies, immunology, cancer biology, signal transduction pathways and bioinformatics.
