The position is in the Orthopedics research group. We are seeking a skilled and motivated research assistant to work in a team developing strategies for the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders especially in the field of osteoarthritis, and bone and tissue regeneration.
We study musculoskeletal disorders both at the clinical and molecular level in order to understand disease mechanisms. The research group is studying biomarkers of pain and tissue regeneration by utilizing diverse biochemical techniques. Identified biomarkers are evaluated functionally in in-vitro and in-vivo models.
The project includes studies of human musculoskeletal tissues collected from patients suffering with knee joint osteoarthritis. The tasks involve histological and biochemical analysis of tissues biopsies collected during joint replacement surgery with aim to understand the underlying mechanisms of pain and tissue degeneration.
We are looking for a candidate with a master's degree in molecular biology or related subject. A PhD in a relevant field is an advantage. In addition, the applicant must have:
