We are looking to recruit a postdoctoral researcher that will study the role of mitochondria in skin biology with focus on wound healing.
The postdoctoral fellow will run a project that in depth examines how cell biology in general and mitochondria in specific is affected in normal and impaired skin wound healing.
Division
The Dermatology and Venereology unit is located in buildings at the Centre of Molecular Medicine (CMM; http://cmm.ki.se/). The research is performed in an interdisciplinary setting with strong collaboration with clinical departments and other national and international research groups. The principal investigator Dr Jakob Wikström, MD PhD, work in close collaboration with the other dermatology oriented research groups.
Applicants should have a PhD degree within the area of biomedical research and have strong interest in medical and biological problems. We are looking for a senior postdoc with experience in basic dermatology research and mitochondrial research. The applicant should be able to independently perform cell culture, gene manipulation, confocal microscopy, and qPCR as well as mitochondrial assays such as respirometry. A documented interest in mitochondrial biology is qualifying. The applicant must be able to handle human samples. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently but at the same time also be a team player and be able to collaborate with the rest of the group.
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.

The position is located within the Department of Medicine, Solna. The department consists of twelve divisions and each division consists of several research groups. The position is located within the research group of Jakob Wikström which is part of the Dermato-venereology division and located at the Centre for Molecular Medicine
