Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

Liver disease is an expanding and attractive field with many unanswered questions and the potential for long-term scientific careers. The Hagström research group at KI has a long history and focus on clinical and epidemiological studies in the field of liver diseases, especially within non-alcoholic fatty liver disease which currently have a global prevalence of 25%. Within our research group you will find an opportunity to use unique data sets to improve our understanding of liver diseases and contribute to world-leading research.

We offer an engaging interdisciplinary research environment where you may contribute to high quality research on an internationally competitive level. There is a strong interaction with other epidemiologists, clinicians and other research labs, locally and internationally. You will use detailed data from a wide range of sources on liver disease development in Sweden, as well as highly characterized cohorts with genetic and histological information. In particular, we are aiming to improve prediction of development of liver cancer in patients with chronic liver diseases through design and validation of new prediction models.

Your mission

Your main role will be to perform a broad range of analyses of registry- and clinical data on some of the largest cohorts in the field. You will have the opportunity to work within an interdisciplinary as well as an international setting.
