We are seeking a talented and motivated research specialist to join our team working on elucidation of the role of exosomes in the immune system and as potential biomarkers and therapeutic agents for cancers and inflammatory diseases such as asthma and sarcoidosis.

Description of the subject area

A highly skilled, experienced and motivated research specialist is needed to work in our exosome team in order to characterize exosomes in different diseases, develop new techniques and to understand their function in pathology and physiology. The candidate needs to have shown strong competence in working independently as well as having good ability for teamwork, and with a mind set for assay development and trouble-shooting. The applicant needs also to be well-structured, with skills in producing high-quality scientific data and to be able to communicate well in English. In addition, apart from practical laboratory skills the applicant needs to be able to manage administrative responsibilities.

Your mission

The successful candidate should have a PhD in biology, medicine or veterinary medicine and experiences in various molecular and Immunological methods. Experiences in exosome analysis techniques as well as teaching and supervising master students and PhD students are merits.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for employment as a Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise as well as have documented research experience after defending their doctoral dissertation.

The assessment criteria form part of the overall assessment of the applicant’s eligibility. All criteria will be assessed but they should not individually be seen as requirements. It is up to the recruiting manager to decide whether to apply assessment criteria or not in the recruitment.

It is particularly meritorious that the applicant has shown

  •  The applicant should have a scientific background relevant to the study of exosomes in cellular and molecular immunology and cancer. Have skills and experience of different molecular and immunological techniques. It is particularly meritorious that the applicant has shown experience in exosome isolation and analysis techniques, proteomic and RNA analysis, in vitro assays of exosome function.

It is meritorious that the applicant has shown

  •  Good organizational skills, personal engagement, and flexibility. Social competence, the ability to work in a team and communication skills in both Swedish and English are important. Interest in and documented experience of supervision of master and PhD students is a merit.

The position is located within the Department of Medicine, Solna. The department consists of twelve divisions and each division consists of several research groups.
