Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

We invite applications for a research specialist position in Camilla Svensson’s laboratory. The position will be placed in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, which has collegial, international and dynamic research environment. Our lab is part the Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM) located on the premises of the Karolinska Hospital. Description of the subject area

The overall research mission for molecular pain research led by Prof. Camilla Svensson is to advance our understanding of the mechanisms that drive chronic pain states, in particular persistent pain in fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. We are exploring how DRG cells, bone cells and associated factors affect the nervous system and contribute to induction and maintenance of pain signal transduction. We use patient samples and a number of behavioral, immunohistochemical, and molecular biological techniques to dissect pain pathways in vivo and in cell culture systems, with the aim to pin-point novel targets for the development of new pain therapeutics

Your mission

We look for a motivated person with interest in managing parts of projects and work closely with dynamic group of about 12 researchers from multiple nationalities, focusing on conditions like fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and neuropathic pain.
