We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist in projects investigating the mechanisms of allergic disease, elucidating the immune response to allergen molecules, with focus on severe food and respiratory allergy. Our objectives are to improve diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases as well as to increase the understanding of their underlying mechanisms. We have an inspiring and interactive research environment with many national and international colleagues. Excellent laboratory facilities and well-characterized patient materials are available.

Your mission

The successful candidate will work with a broad range of immunological techniques, protein and antibody derived assays, flow cytometry, cell-based systems and proteomics. The postdoctoral researcher will take part in planning and conducting research studies, including data management, statistical analyses and manuscript writing. Good collaboration skills and capacity to independently develop the research area are needed.

Your profile

You have a PhD degree in biochemistry and documented experience of working in the field of molecular allergology. You are well acquainted with standard immunological techniques such as ELISA, Western, cell culture, FACS, mass spectrometry-based proteomics etc. Previous experience of food biochemistry and clinically oriented studies in food allergy is mandatory. The applicant has competence in running projects independently but has also excellent abilities for teamwork. The candidate must have proven ability to write peer-reviewed scientific articles in the area of research and to orally present results (documented by e.g. participation in international meetings). Excellent communication skills in English are needed, as the group and work environment is international with extensive network of international collaborations.

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
