Ming Wai Lau Centre for Reparative Medicine (MWLC), Hong Kong

Ming Wai Lau Centre for Reparative Medicine (MWLC) aims to contribute to the improvement of human health by conducting cutting-edge research in reparative medicine and related subjects, by creating a new platform for synergies between academia and innovation in Sweden and Hong Kong as well as China, and fostering future leaders in both academia and industry.

MWLC is established to further accelerate research in stem cell biology, biomedical engineering, biotechnology, and regenerative medicine. MWLC operates two nodes, one based at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden and the other in Hong Kong, located in Science Park, Shatin. The Hong Kong node currently includes four research groups, consisting of a total of 30-40 scientists.

The position will be based in the inspiring environment in Hong Kong Science Park. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading bioinformatics analyses that integrate our recently sequenced >1000 cancer samples and the TCGA datasets, develop new data algorithms for T-cell receptor profiling, gene rearrangement detection, CRISPR genome-wide editing characterization, or large-scale single-cell genomics data analyses. Specific requirements include:

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in molecular cell biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, data science, mathematics or relevant fields.
  • Extensive experience in genomics research involving large-scale next-generation sequencing data analysis or CRISPR genome editing, with a proven record of publications.
