Your mission

Your role in the Cancer Research KI organisation is to aid in the missions of the programme by helping with a variety of tasks of the administration with a focus on communication, working closely with the research coordinator of Cancer Research KI.

The position offers a varied spectrum of tasks, including communication (web page, newsletters, social media, etc.), organizing and conducting events (meetings, workshops, conferences), assisting with administrative tasks as needed. You will be based at BioClinicum, but attend meetings at several sites around KI if needed.

Your profile

We are looking for an early career stage researcher at KI, perhaps in your first years after Ph.D., who would like to gain some valuable administrative and communication experience by working part-time 50%, (i.e., two and a half-day/ week at the office) for Cancer Research KI. You will work closely with the Cancer Research KI research coordinator, taking part in running the daily operations of the organization.

The research administrator would preferably have a Ph.D. in the biomedical field. It is also an advantage if he/she has work experience from academia and/or industry with similar tasks. Organizational and communication skills are highly important as well as an active attitude with an interest to engage in work to develop the communication for the program. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities such as communication and social skills and the ability to cooperate. Good written English skills are required and knowledge of Swedish (spoken/written) is needed.

Cancer Research KI is an initiative funded by the Swedish Research Council to strengthen and expand the already strong cancer research at Karolinska Institutet. Cancer Research KI works to increase contacts between cancer researchers from different disciplines, from basic tumour biology to clinical oncology. In addition, to increase cooperation with external actors such as other Universities (nationally and internationally), health care and industrial collaborators.

The position is a temporary employment for one year with possibility for extension.
