We invite applications for lab manager in Camilla Svensson’s laboratory. The position will be placed in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, which has collegial, international and dynamic research environment. Our lab is part the Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM) located on the premises of the Karolinska Hospital. Your mission

We look for a motivated person with interest in interacting and managing a dynamic group of about 12 researchers from multiple nationalities working in the area of chronic pain, focusing on conditions like fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

The successful candidate will work with diverse administrative, organizational and research activities of the Camilla Svensson’s lab. The candidate will interact and collaborate with clinicians, researchers and students also of other research groups within CMM and KI, as well as other national and international research groups.

The tasks of the lab manager include:

  • Help managing the agenda of the PI
  • Assist in coordination of research activities
  • Assist in coordination of collection of human samples and oversee biobank
  • Assist in writing grants, grant reports and ethical permits
  • Purchases of products (Agresso), maintain chemical inventory (Klara) and equipment
  • Work with issues related to environment, biosafety and risk assessments
  • Organization of common lab stocks, lab routines and introduction of new researchers.
  • Help with experimental work

Your profile

You are a postdoc, a PhD, a lab manager or similar and have several yearsof experience from research and organizational work. You have a very good written and spoken Swedish and English. You have experience in working with diverse lab methods, computer programs and you are eager to learn more. You are a team player, a good communicator and enjoy interactions with researchers and students. You have a deep sense of responsibility, take initiatives and have capacity and flexibility to anticipate and solve daily challenges. You are service-minded, and you would like to contribute to the success of a research team.
