Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

Karolinska Institutet and five other Swedish universities are building a National E-infrastructure for Aging Research (NEAR) with the ultimate goal of facilitating aging research in Sweden, fostering international collaboration, and enhancing the quality and impact of scientific research. NEAR consists of 15 databases derived from longitudinal cohort studies located in different geographical areas in Sweden. The databases participating in NEAR include more than 180,000 people over age 50.
Participants are assessed by direct interview and/or clinical examination (to date, this cohort has been followed for a minimum of 7 years to a maximum of 40 years). Data are linked with registers from Statistics Sweden (SCB) and the Swedish Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen).
