Division
We search for a Laboratory Research Assistant to work in Professor Birgitta Henriques Normark's research group.

Duties
We are looking for a short time temporary position to work primarily on DNA isolation from different pneumococcal strains. Technologies include work on pneumococci such as growth and DNA preparation, bacterial cell culture in BSL2, genomic DNA extraction and DNA purification, gel electrophoresis, library preparation for whole genome sequencing, maintaining a lab notebook with a thorough, organized and timely summary of results, as well as oral and written communication of results and progression.

Entry Requirements
The successful candidate has a PhD on pneumococci and relevant experience in academic research in microbiology. We are looking for someone who has an understanding of microbiology theory and previous laboratory experience of working with bacteria especially of pneumococci in a BSL2 research laboratory and of preparing pneumococcal DNA. The applicant should also be precise and organized in work. Successful applicants must have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a group and have good English and Swedish communication skills
