The Department is organized in 10 divisions: Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Pediatric Endocrinology, Pediatric Surgery, Neuropediatrics, Pediatric Oncology, Neonatology, Reproductive Endocrinology, Neuropsychiatry (KIND), Reproductive and Perinatal Health. The divisions have separate scientific profiles and vary in size and have several research groups, dealing with both basic and clinical science.

Division
The Petter Brodin’s research group located at Science for Life Laboratory in Stockholm is a part of the Unit of Clinical Pediatrics, Karolinska Institutet. The group develops and applies experimental and computational research methods for systems-level analyses of human immune systems. The aim of the team is to understand immune systems’ variation in health and disease and the regulatory mechanisms underlying such variation and adaptation to environmental influences. Another important focus is the
development of immune systems in early Life.

Duties
The Petter Brodin group at Science for Life Laboratory and Women’s and Children’s Health is in need for a postdoc to analyze data on newborn immune system development. The successful candidate must have experience of high dimensional Mass cytometry data analysis using custom pipelines written in python and/or R. Also, analyses of clinical data, high-dimensional plasma protein data analysis as well as analysis of metagenomic data is an integral part of the project and experience of this will be important. To be competitive the candidate must have experience in working with newborn immune system development, preferably using human samples. The duties of the postdoc will be to perform a focused analysis project of already existing data (Olin et al, Cell 2018, Pou et al, Nature Medicine, 2019) during 6 months and working with the Brodin lab to write up a paper on the results.

Entry requirements
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence.
