The Department is organized in 10 divisions: Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Pediatric Endocrinology, Pediatric Surgery, Neuropediatrics, Pediatric Oncology, Neonatology, Reproductive Endocrinology, Neuropsychiatry (KIND), Reproductive and Perinatal Health. The divisions have separate scientific profiles and vary in size and have several research groups, dealing with both basic and clinical science.

Division
The areas of research in the Division of Obetstrics and Gynecology includes the research conducted by the research group at the WHO collaborating centre for Research and Research Training in Human Reproduction. One of the main areas for the group is the development of safe abortion methods, contraceptive methods and comprehensive abortion care in a global health perspective.

Duties
This postdoctoral position aims to research and develop new models of care for comprehensive abortion care, which includes post-abortion care and contraception, with a focus on women in low-resource settings and/or with restricted access to safe abortion. Main tasks will be to design and lead a postdoctoral project focusing on post abortion contraceptive use in East Africa with the aim to improve women´s access to and uptake of a contraceptive method. The applicant should be a certified obstetrician/gynaecologist or midwife. The applicant should have experience of research in low resource settings, including both qualitative and quantitative research. Experience of conducting systematic reviews is a merit. Further the applicant should have experience of development of research projects including study design and study procedures within the research field described above. Further, the applicant should have have computer skills in STATA or SPSS. [AC1] The applicant should be independent but able to work well in a team. Excellent written and spoken English is a requirement. Language competency in Spanish, Portuguese, Luganda or Swahili is an asset.

Entry requirements
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence.
