Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics (LIME) works within some of the key areas important to fulfilling the motto of Karolinska Institutet ´to improve human health´. We focus on research, development and education in the following areas: medical and healthcare education, informatics, management, ethics, and suicide prevention. About the unit
The Unit for Bioentrepreneurship (UBE) conducts research on and education in innovation and entrepreneurship. A two-year global Master's programme in Bioentrepreneurship (MBE) is offered at the unit, together with programme elective and single subject courses. UBE is the KI node of the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship (an academic collaboration between KI, the Stockholm School of Economics, the Royal Institutet of Technology, the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design, and Stockholm University) providing interdisciplinary education. UBE is also involved in a number of educational projects funded by EU. With the help of these projects, KI wants to encourage students, researchers and others to develop an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset and approach.

Assignments
You will have the overall responsibility for external relations at UBE. More specifically, you will be the course leader for the two "placement courses" in the MBE programme. Your work will include;

  • Continuous contact with companies and organizations appropriate for our student placements
  • Course planning, execution of courses, assessment and grading of assignments and evaluation of the courses
  • Taking active part in the UBE faculty and being available for seminars, workshops as well as possible teaching and grading responsibilities at other courses
  • When needed, and if time allows, manage externally funded projects, in line with the main responsibility (external relations)

Entry requirements
Required qualifications (must be supported by documentation)

  • Doctoral degree within a field that is relevant for the position, for example molecular biology or life science
  • Education within the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship
  • Education in communication
  • Experience of teaching at University level in English
  • Proficiency in English, both speaking and in writing

Meriting qualifications

  • At least basic knowledge of Swedish
  • A solid network within the life science industry in Sweden and other European countries to be able to effectively match students with suitable companies.

Personal skills
For this recruitment it’s important that you have a god ability to cooperate as well as ability to take initiatives, this since the position involves intense networking and interaction with students.
