Karolinska Institutet,

The Department of Cell and Molecular Biology (CMB) is a department with a strong focus on basic science. CMB conducts research and education in cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, stem cell biology, cancer and infection biology.

Division
The research group of Professor Jonas Frisén studies regenerative medicine and stem cell biology. The focus is on the generation of new cells in the adult body in healthy and pathological situations. Mouse models and human specimen are analyzed. Most of the work concerns the central nervous system, the heart, prostate and immune system.

Duties
The research project focuses on charactherization of immune cells in nervous system injuries and in tumors. This is studied in mouse models and in human tissues. Immunecells are characterized by scRNA-seq and clonal relationships are unveiled by phylogenetic analysis of single cell whole genome sequencing,

Entry requirements
The applicant must hold a PhD focusing on immunology and tumor biology. Documented experience of scRNA-seq, mouse models of cancer and experience of myeloid cell characterization is a strong merit. The applicant must speak, read and write English fluently.

Application process
An employment application must contain the following documents in English or Swedish:

  1. A complete curriculum vitae, including date of the thesis defence, title of the thesis, previous academic positions, academic title, current position, academic distinctions, and committee work
  2. A complete list of publications
