The Department of Biosciences and Nutrition performs research and education in several areas of medical science including bioorganic chemistry, molecular endocrinology, cancer biology, functional genomics, systems biology, epigenetics, structural biochemistry, cellular virology, and nutrition. It offers an excellent international research and working environment, including around 300 scientists, students, administrative and technical personnel. The Department resides in the new biomedical research building Neo, aimed at being a creative and open environment that enables meetings, synergies, and exploration of areas of mutual interest across disciplines.

Division
Associate professor Marie Löf, is the leader of the IMPACT (Innovative use of Mobile Phones to promote physical ACTivity and nutrition across the lifespan) research group at Karolinska Institutet. The group has ten years of experience in developing mobile phone based (mHealth) interventions focusing on promoting optimal nutrition and physical activity, with special emphasis on pregnant women and young children. For example, the studies include technology development for dietary and physical activity assessment using mobile phones as well as mHealth solutions to promote healthier diet and physical activity and obesity prevention in children and adults.

Duties
This post doc will be primarily responsible for updating and adapting the intervention content for a mHealth intervention focused in health dietary and physical activity behaviors in pre-school aged children. The post doc will also analyze available data from an obesity treatment intervention in pre-school children.

The position is for 6 months with the possibility for extension provided there is funding.

Qualifications:
For this position a solid background in nutrition is required. The successful candidate should have documented – and by referees supported – experiences in obesity intervention studies in pre-school children. The candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills. Fluent knowledge of English, writing and speaking is required. Additionally, previous post doc period is a merit. Previous work with development and evaluation of mHealth studies in young children is required. Previous work with body composition and physical activity assessments as well as experience using the doubly labelled water method, especially in young children is a merit.

Entry requirements
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence.
