Description of research group and project
We are looking for a highly motivated post-doc with an interest in NK cell biology and translational medicine. The project concerns the development of new cell therapies based on insights into the functional heterogeneity of human NK cells. The studies involve basic molecular immunology with a strong translational component. The Malmberg Lab is located in Oslo/Norway and Stockholm/Sweden and currently consists of 17 people. Through partnerships with leading NK cell groups in Europe and the biotech industry we design and run clinical trials for patients with cancer.

Duties
The successful candidate will participate in the pre-clinical work aiming at launching the first in human cell therapy trial with adaptive NK cells. The projects involves basic aspects of human NK-cell development, differentiation and functional regulation. The postdoctoral fellow will be required to execute a variety of single-cell assays, including high-dimensional immune profiling by mass cytometry, flow cytometry, single-cell indexed FACS-sorting and RNA Seq. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to plan, execute, and analyze experiments in an independent manner and contribute scientifically to the group. In this particular position, the candidate will operate at the interface with our industrial partner and also contribute to the GMP scale up of the adaptive NK cell expansion protocol for clinical implementation. 

Entry requirements
The candidate must hold a PhD equivalent to a Swedish doctoral degree in the fields of immunology, cell biology, virology with publications in internationally renowned peer-reviewed journals. The candidate should be self-motivated, have good communications skills and ability to interact effectively and work productively in a team. Fluency in English is a requirement. Candidates should have a strong, documented background in single cell-based assessment of immunological responses. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in translational research, flow cytometry and functional immunological assays. In connection with the appointment of the post-doctoral position, we will accord special weight to academic skills, particularly demonstrated excellence in research, a strong dedication, and excellent communication skills.
