Division of Oral Diseases, Section of Periodontology and Dental Prophylaxis, research group of Prof. Nagihan Bostanci and Prof. Timo Sorsa works with research and education within medical and dental sciences including microbial pathogenesis, cell- and molecular biology, immunology, infection biology, cancer, and inflammation.  

Duties
This postdoctoral position is available from Fall 2018 in the research group of Prof. Nagihan Bostanci and Prof. Timo Sorsa. The postdoctoral scientist who will fulfil this position is expected to be independent, with a strong background in immunology and microbiology with a focus towards the development and application of multiplex immunoassays and carry out a research project focused on molecular diagnostics of periodontal diseases.  

Entry requirements
The applicant must hold a doctoral degree or a foreign qualification equivalent to a doctorate.The position requires a PhD degree in the field of Microbiology or Infection Biology and early postdoctoral experience. This interdisciplinary project requires a proven track record in the development and application of multiplex immunoassays and experience in culturing eukaryotic cells and bacteria. Acquired knowledge in infectious and inflammatory diseases and good understanding of periodontal pathobiology is highly preferred. Experience with undergraduate and postgraduate research student supervision is strong merit.
