Ming Wai Lau Centre for Reparative Medicine (MWLC) aims to contribute to the improvement of human health by conducting cutting-edge research in reparative medicine and related subjects, by creating a new platform for synergies between academia and innovation in Sweden and Hong Kong as well as China, and fostering future leaders in both academia and industry.

Position as senior researcher/associate professor
In order to strengthen its position in chemical biology, iPS cell biology, organoid development, and 3D culture in neural, cardiac or other organ systems, MWLC wishes to recruit a senior researcher/associate professor to join its Hong Kong node. Candidates in all areas of reparative medicine are welcome to apply, however candidates with an established experience in one or more of the areas mentioned above are particularly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate, who will join a vibrant research environment, is expected to develop his/her independent research line, have a leading role in promoting collaboration within the Hong Kong Centre, with the Stockholm node, as well as with the Hong Kong and Chinese scientific communities. The position is supported by a generous package for three years with a possible extension of two years. Salary and benefits will be competitive and according to qualifications and experience. An associate or co-directorship of the Hong Kong node may be considered. The employee assigned to the position will have his/her workplace in Hong Kong Science Park and be employed under local labour laws in Hong Kong.

Eligibility
To qualify, the applicant must have obtained a PhD or corresponding level of scientific competence.

Assessment criteria
Applicants will be assessed on their scientific expertise and the scientific quality of their projects by internal and external evaluation boards. Applicants must document the capacity to independently conduct successful research and publish in internationally leading journals with a prominent place in the author lists. International experience, collaborative and management skills will also be considered as merits.
